Fall Fest was a success. We made around $800. This is more than last year. We didn’t spend as much either. The games were great again. The pumpkin carving contest was a hit. Next year we want to emphasize it. It could be any kind of pumpkin decoration design. To get more families involved we can do a “family pumpkin.” The pizzas went over well, especially when we lowered the price to $1/slice. We had no pizza left over.
Fall Fundraiser Wrap-up
Made just under $3,500. Total sales was $7,383, we get 50% for chocolate and 40% for coffee. We also had cash donations. We spent $3-400 to get the quota amount, but we can sell it at concerts and other events. We made a little less than last year. Company rep said it was a good-size order at Seroogy’s so we do well for them. We can put out a suggestion box to see what people would like to see for fundraisers. We can request business names and so forth.
Holiday Baskets
Joane sent a briefing to Kelli this morning. Hopefully teachers will have the themes picked out by end of this week (15th), and we can send it home with kids in a flyer at the end of next week (22nd). The concert is Thursday, December 19th. We will assemble baskets on Monday the 16th. We can announce winners during the concert by splitting the announcing, half in the middle and half in the end. We will need to ask Mr. Sloan.
Movie Night
Should we set one up before the holidays? We could do Elf night the first week of December? Some schools do drop-off nights, parents pay a fee and they can go X-mas shopping. We could do a snackbag for the kids as well. We would require a liability signoff of some sort. Thurs or Fri? We’ll have to work it out around basketball.
Probably not a good match for this Dec. but we could do it Jan or Feb as well. Mid of Jan? After basketball. Jan 30? The license, $464, renews in March.
Honor Roll
Wed 11/20, 2:45 awards. We usually do scooped ice cream but since it’s during the day it is hard to get volunteers. We could do an easier treat. We will provide drumsticks, sandwiches, and one other, bomb-pop or similar. 30-45 treats needed.
Penguin Patch
Week of December 9. We will set it in the lab. We have to find the box that was shipped. We will setup on Monday before our meeting. We need volunteers. We could provide a credit incentive for kids’ parents to sign up. We usually use the earnings to provide for the Giving Tree donation.
Open Floor
Conferences taco bar was a success. It was easy to set up and people brought things on time. It was well received by teachers.
End meeting 6:00 pm
